Karen
National Union (KNU)’s Educating and Instituting Committee (Central) conducted a five-day, Awareness Training
from the 14 – 18th of November 2023, for representatives of Karen
National Police (KNPF) from various districts.
The training included KNU’s fundamental principles and constitution, the
current political situation and the history of the Karen revolution.
Leaders from the KNU and Educating and Instituting Committee provided the training at the Karen National Police Force (KNPF) headquarters.
During the training, politics, the history of Burma (Myanmar) and the history of the Karen revolution was delivered by Padoh Saw Thamein Tun, a member of the KNU Central Standing Committee. The topic of KNU’s Basic Principles and Policy was shared by Padoh Saw Hsa Lah Mu. The KNU Constitution and Myanmar's Constitutional and Administrative Rules and Regulations was given by KNU’s Standing Committee member Padoh Saw Popo Htoo Aung, and Introduction to Federalism, Nation Building and State Building was given by Sayar Wai Yan Min Thein. KNU Joint-Secretary (2) Padoh Saw Hla Tun shared about the Current Political Situation and Building of a Federal Union. In addition to the re-election of the vacant positions of the Karen National Police Force (KNPF), the next steps of the KNPF were formulated in order to strengthen law enforcement in KNU-administered areas.
