Karen National Union held a “Tazaungdaing Festival of Lights” ceremony and youth seminar at the center

On the 27^th of November 2023, Tazaungdaing Festival of Lights was held in Mae Wah Klo at the Karen National Union’s Headquarters.

Saw Hsa Lah Mu and Naw Bwe P’Saw Thaw were the masters of ceremonies, and a total of more than 250 leaders, students, youths and villagers attended.

Padoh Saw Hla Tun, Joint General Secretary (2) of the KNU, gave the opening speech and the purpose of holding the “Tazaungdaing Festival of Lights” prayer ceremony.  Joint General Secretary (1) Padoh Saw Thaw Thi Bwe, Head of Transportation Department Padoh Saw Kler Say, Assistant Adjutant General of the Central Military Headquarters of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigadier General Mahn Phan Lon Hein, and Chairperson of the Karen Youth Organization (KYO) and member of KNU’s Central Standing Committee Padoh Saw Ler Ner, respectively gave encouraging words to the public.

During the event, the students of New Generation and KYO youths performed songs and was followed by a prayer session. In addition, a youth friendship program was held under the leadership of Saw Eh Htee Kaw Karen Youth Organization (KYO) Central Secretary (2).
