The 76th Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) Day Held at the KNDO Headquarters

The Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) commemorated its 76th anniversary on July 16, 2023, with a ceremony held at its headquarters in observance of Karen National Defense Force Organization.

Over 1,000 people, including key leaders from the Karen National Union, Karen National Liberation Army, Karen National Defense Organization, allied forces, and local residents, attended at the event.

Lieutenant Colonel Saw Ni Doh Moo, serving as the Head Clerk (1) for KNDO, and Tharamu Naw Eh Paw Wah from KNU-Central, played the roles of emcees during the 76th Karen National Defense Organization Day event.

During the event program, Lieutenant Ye Bo from the KNLA Headquarters led the salute for the Karen national flag, fallen leaders, comrades, and civilians. This was followed by the opening speech delivered by Brigadier General Saw Shee Lay, Chief of Staff of the KNDO.

On the 76th anniversary of the KNDO Day, Padoh Saw Law Eh Moo, a Central Executive Committee member, read the felicitation letter sent by KNU Chairperson Padoh Saw Kwe Htoo Win. Additionally, Padoh Saw Thamein Tun, a member of the Central Standing Committee, shared insights into the history of the formation of the KNDO.

Padoh Saw Hla Tun, the KNU Joint General Secretary (2), and Lieutenant Colonel Saw Lah Paw from the KNLA-HQ delivered their congratulatory speeches. During the felicitation reading program, Mrs. Naw Eh Ni Aung read the felicitation letter sent by the Karen Women's Organization for the 76th KNDO Day, while Saw Golden, the secretary of the Karen Youth Organization (KYO), read the letter of felicitation sent by KYO.

The event featured performances by KNLA soldiers, students from the New Generation Leadership Program (NGLP), Emmanuel School, Sunshine Orchard School, and Pu Bo Mya School. Major General Hsa Tu Gaw, Head Clerk (2) of the Karen National Defense Organization, expressed gratitude to attendees at the 76th Karen National Defense Organization Day. The program concluded with a rendition of the Karen national anthem.
