The 5th Congress of Saw Hti Township Successfully Completed

The 5^th Congress of Saw Hti Township took place over a span of 9 days, commencing on April 24 and concluding on May 3, 2023. The Congress entailed a comprehensive review and discussion of military, political, administrative, and public affairs spanning the four-year period from 2018 to 2022, including departmental activities, ultimately leading to important decisions being made.

Twenty-one members were elected to the Standing Committee of the township, and subsequently, through a secret ballot among these Standing Committee members, four key executive leaders of the township were re-elected.

The newly elected leaders are as follows:

1.     Township Chairperson: Padoh Saw Hpa Reh

2.     Township Secretary: Padoh Blaw Kaw Moo

3.     Township Joint-Secretary: Padoh Julia

4.     Township Judge: Padoh Saw Bwe Kyaw

The election process involved the selection of Standing Committee members and four key executive leaders through a voting system. Subsequently, the Election Commission administered an oath to the elected individuals, followed by the formal handover of responsibilities. The four township executive leaders, now in possession of authority, assigned duties to the executive committee, departmental leaders, township officials, supervisory committee, finance committee, judicial committee, township head clerk, In-charge of CIDKP and KORD, and ration officer from among the 21 Standing Committee members. Additionally, the budget estimates for the period between 2023 and 2024 were formulated and allocated based on the district's estimated amount.

The Congress concluded with the rendition of the Karen national anthem.
