The Karen National Union (KNU) has demanded that the Burmese government and military declare a nationwide ceasefire in order to effectively fight the coronavirus pandemic.The declaration came on March 26. International Women's Day - 2019
A ceremony for International Women's Day was successfully held on 8 March 2019, at TPC (Teacher Preparation Course) Hall, Thailand – Burma/Myanmar border. Naw Eh Ta Mwe Phaw (KWO) gave a presentation on International Women's Day and Naw Htoo Htoo (KHRG) presented on the step by step of the activities of International Women. KSNG Chairman delivered a speech encouraging the role of youth. The cremony was attended by (50) representives from KWO, KSNG, KHRG, KED, DOI and KCSOs. Before the closing ceremony, there was a time for questions and answers. Following that, a representative from KYO gave a thank you speech and the ceremony was ended with the closing speech of the Chairperson.
